DAY 74: Back to Nelson DAY 75: Pit stop in Kaikoura

DAY 74: The last leg of our hike only took us about 2 hours (which was nice for a change). We were picked up by a shuttle bus and driven back to Nelson on one of the most beautiful rides through New Zealand I have ever been on. Emma and I slid the windows open and stuck our heads out like dogs and we whizzed around the corners and got the full views of the Golden Bay.

DAY 75: We took the bus from Nelson to Christchurch and planned on meeting our friends Mike and Nate. The bus had other plans though, and we broke down right outside of Kaikoura. Luckily, we were in a very pretty spot right off the beach. It was a black sand beach with a MILLION rocks, and you guessed it, lots of drift wood! So I preoccupied myself as my brother would have by hitting them into the waves. Before I knew it, the bus was ready, and we continued south. The ride in total took about 6 hours, but the sunset on the coast was so worth it. Plus we saw some more seals!

When we got to Christchurch, we checked into the YMCA again and met up with the boys. And as a 21 year old, we hit THE CASINO!!!! Although I was not dressed fancy, and it wasn't exactly Casino Royale, it had me dreaming of being in a James Bond movie. Except there were a lot more old people than I thought there would be...

After the Casino, we hit one of the only bars we could find. As it was a Monday, things were pretty dead. We said goodbye and wished them luck on their Australian Adventure and headed back to the hostel. Picking up the other girls tomorrow!!
