DAY 78: Wanaka, Arrowtown, and Te Anu

That morning we explored the small town of Wanaka. The town is about an hour from Queenstown and rests right on Lake Wanaka which has great views of the mountains around it.  It is sort of a little ski town thats really cute. Unfortunately, it was rainy that morning. But we made the most of our short time there by window shopping and hanging out by the lake.

When we finished lunch, we hit the road for Arrowtown. Arrowtown is a quaint old mining town. It is known for its really great foliage. We explored a bit an found an awesome candy shop which we spent about a half hour in (American Candy! Finally!). It sort of reminded me of the Weasley's Wizard Weezes in Harry Potter.

We took lots of pictures and goofed around for a while then continued our journey to Te Anu. We stopped briefly in Queenstown to drop off Sarah and kept driving. Te Anu is the closest town to our next destination: Milford Sound.  We got to our hostel and upgraded from a campground to a room (because we weren't about to freeze again) and ordered Chinese. It was a long day of traveling, and we had exciting things to do tomorrow!
